SOFIE TV presents short film content and other artistic works curated by The Short Film Awards, an international awards organization that honors the giants of short film...the best producers, directors, writers, actors, cinematographers, sound engineers, stylists and other creators of short films. SOFIE TV includes the public access TV show, "SOFIE in Short," to air on the SOMAtv station out of the New Jersey creative hub of South Orange, as well as online streaming to the global audience.
The Short Film Awards, affectionately nicknamed the SOFIES, was born out of a love for the special art form known as the Short Film. Due to its brief nature, the Short Film fosters an unmatched spirit of creativity, resourcefulness and independence that inspires, stirs and transforms. The Short Film Awards promote and extol the Short Film as an important and unique art form and outlet for social commentary.
Monthly, SOFIE TV will present specially curated BROADCAST and ONLINE screenings, inspired by specific themes, genres and other interesting, creative groupings. Chosen shorts will be screened on the SOFIE TV show, "SOFIE in Short," airing on SOMAtv, as well as SOFIE TV's online channels.
Four times a year, SOFIE TV will host live, themed screenings, showcasing the best and most popular short films previously streamed online. The very first screening, titled "Love Me, Love Me Not," happens on the national Day of Love, February 14, 2016, New York City! This event will also include a fine art and photography exhibit to complement the short film selections.
The Short Film Awards Foundation is an officially approved 501(c)3, nonprofit organization.

1. ONLY if specified within the submission details on this page, your work will be included in a live screening event in the New York Metropolitan area.
I2. ALL chosen shorts will screen on the TV show, "SOFIE in Short," which will air on SOMAtv, the public access station of South Orange and Maplewood, New Jersey. Programming also reaches audiences in Newark, the states largest city and the second largest in the New York Metropolitan area. Fine art and photos may also appear within an episode of "SOFIE in Short."
3. ALL chosen shorts will also screen online, through the SOMAtv and SOFIE TV websites. Fine art and photos may also appear within an episode of "SOFIE in Short."
4. ALL chosen shorts, fine art and photos will be featured on the SOFIE TV website and social media accounts to further expand exposure.
5. ALL submitters of chosen shorts, fine art and photos will be invited to attend The 3rd Annual Short Film Awards, occurring in late 2016, to network with and be inspired by other tremendously talented filmmakers and some powerbrokers in the film and entertainment industries.
